Well, as I said before, New England didn't have land that could be used in farming, the ground was mostly rocky, so they depended on the sea for economy. Middle colonies, on the other hand, had some of the most fertile land in all of the colonies. It was used for farming, and when it was plowed, the land would literally crumble, making for a very long, and helpful, season for growth and harvest. The Southern Colonies, much like the farming of plantations, produced indigo, sugar cane, rice, and much more :)
