Which expression is equivalent to 17x − 8x + 2 and why? 2 − 9x, because (17x − 8x) + 2 = −9x + 2 = 2 − 9x 2 + 9x, because (17x − 8x) + 2 = 9x + 2 = 2 + 9x 11x, because 17x − 8x + 2 = 9x + 2 = 11x 7x, because 17x − 8x + 2 = 17x − 10x = 7x

combine like terms and simplify
can you help me with that?
what are the 3 terms given? are there any like terms? what are the 2 like terms? combine the 2 like terms to simplify rewrite to maintain the value of the original 3 terms
that's what I need help with ive really never done this before
example sports football, baseball, basketball different groups you cannot score touchdowns when playing basketball not in the same group example fruits strawberry, bananas, apples, oranges . fruitbasket 2 apples and 5 oranges still 2 apples and 5 oranges cannot add to get bananas. here all terms with x can go together all numbers can go together but letters and numbers are not like terms leave them separate
D?
don't guess be interactive if you really want the help I asked what are the terms? I explained how to group them
17x and -8x are like terms. We can combine them 17x − 8x = 9x think of it like (17 xrays) minus (8 xrays) = 9 xrays so the word problem could be "You have 17 xrays and someone takes away 8 of them. How many do you have left?" The answer would be 9 xrays
that's all I have to do?
read all the responses
ok then its B
is it B?
yes it is
thank you
