Could somebody show me how to check this equation?
3x – 7 = 5x + 19
5x - 3x = -7 - 19
2x = -26
/2 /2
x = -13

to check if your answer is good
you replace x in the equation be the value you found which is in this case -13
and left must match with right
OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):
do you get it?
OpenStudy (dimples97):
there is 2 x's so where should i put it?
OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):
you have to replace all the x's in the equation be -13
OpenStudy (dimples97):
ohhh okay so two -13's?

if you did calculate left side by itself
and did right side by it self
you should get the same number left and right
that means you equation checks out
