That first question is very, very different to

what is your velocity with reference to road ?"

You should be able to solve this if you think about it.

If the bus moves forward at 10 m/s, and you move forward at 1m/s inside it, how fast are you moving? (relative to the ground)

If the bus moves forward at 10 m/s, and you move backward at 1m/s inside it, how fast are you moving? (relative to the ground)
