A parallelogram is shown below: Part A: What is the area of the parallelogram? Show your work. (5 points) Part B: How can you decompose this parallelogram into two triangles? If this parallelogram was decomposed into two triangles, what would be the area of each triangle? (5 points)
brb 5Mins
the area is 6
part a = 6 part b = idk
Part A: the area of a parallelogram is base * height, so it is 8 ft * (3/4) ft = 6 ft^2
Part B: you can split the parallelogram down its diagonal. Area of each triangle would be half of the area of the paralleogram because you split the paralleogram in half. You can also find the area of each triangle with (1/2)*base*height. (1/2)*8ft*(3/4)ft = 3ft^2
