Okay I got the adding down. It's basically the same as working fractions. For those who might look at this question in the future, looking for help. Here is how you add them: 
suppose you have 2x/4 + x/8 You would simply find the Least Common Denominators and add fraction sas usual. In this case the least common denominator is 8 and you would need to multiple both the top and bottom by 2. which gives you 4x/8 + x/8 which is 5x/8
