HELP WITH CIVICS!

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

@Jaynator495

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

@UnkleRhaukus

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

@undeadknight26

OpenStudy (thomasfire55):

whats your question

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

i need help with an assignment :)

OpenStudy (thomasfire55):

im not that good but ill try

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

ok....

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

Choose a format. You have choices in how you present this information to the townspeople. Do you like to write songs? You can create a song using the Song Template. Are you an artist? You could create a comic strip using the Comic Strip Information. Do you like to talk? You could write a speech using the Speech Template. Create your presentation. No matter which format you choose, be sure to include the following: description of checks and balances viewpoint of Federalists on ratifying the Constitution viewpoint of Anti-federalists on ratifying the Constitution

OpenStudy (thomasfire55):

idk

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

lol thanks for trying.. i guess

OpenStudy (lacris):

So you have to make a presentation?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

yes... first we have to pick which format you want to do... the song, a comic strip, or a speech

OpenStudy (lacris):

Your technically making a commercial with creative license to do either a song or comic strip or something the general public can understand. Just describe what the checks and balances viewpoint of Federalists on ratifying the Constitution viewpoint of Anti-federalists on ratifying the Constitution Dont be bias but put equal arguments on both sides.

OpenStudy (lacris):

You know the anti federalists view point and the federalists view points right? So just put hmm lets say an argument each on their perspective, counter arguments in a simplistic manner.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

but i need help :( i have no clue what to write and i have no idea what federalists or i dont even know.. :(

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

PLEASE HELP ME.. AND ARE YOU GOOD AT CIVICS? :)

OpenStudy (lacris):

lol I took that class 2 years ago but lemmi check I will try.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

ok! can we do the song template? or what do you want to do because we need to pick one of the three

OpenStudy (lacris):

whats the easiest for you? Do what you want to do, its sounds like a fun project.

OpenStudy (lacris):

A speech is writing an essay, a comic is you putting a tongue in cheek type of snarky comedic tone to it, a song is well, putting symbolism everywhere. What matters is if you are a funny, or direct, or musical type of guy.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

i know.. um lets do a song because i think its the easiest lol ... because the speech is 5 paragraphs like an essay so unless you want to do that one thats fine with me and i dont like doing comic strips

OpenStudy (lacris):

ok well you know what the check and balances are?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

no

OpenStudy (lacris):

lol https://geopolicraticus.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/us-checks-and-balances1.png This is it simplified. Does it ring any bells?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

no...

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

i have no idea what anything is

OpenStudy (lacris):

3 branches of the U.S government limit each others power so no one becomes a super tyrannical ruler.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

im so confused with this assignment

OpenStudy (lacris):

Okay, so what do you know about federalists and anti federalists and checks and balances so far?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

nada ..lol

OpenStudy (lacris):

you have any notes you took in class?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

no because my teacher stinks!

OpenStudy (lacris):

I understand, my math teachers ruined my math too. okay well this is a good piece of information: " The process of how laws are made (see the following page) is a good example of checks and balances in action. First, the legislative branch introduces and votes on a bill. The bill then goes to the executive branch, where the President decides whether he thinks the bill is good for the country. If so, he signs the bill, and it becomes a law. If the President does not believe the bill is good for the country, he does not sign it. This is called a veto. But the legislative branch gets another chance. With enough votes, the legislative branch can override the executive branch's veto, and the bill becomes a law. Once a law is in place, the people of the country can test it through the court system, which is under the control of the judicial branch. If someone believes a law is unfair, a lawsuit can be filed. Lawyers then make arguments for and against the case, and a judge decides which side has presented the most convincing arguments. The side that loses can choose to appeal to a higher court, and may eventually reach the highest court of all, the Supreme Court. If the legislative branch does not agree with the way in which the judicial branch has interpreted the law, they can introduce a new piece of legislation, and the process starts all over again. " - Fact Monster

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

DID YOU JUST TYPE AL OF THAT?

OpenStudy (lacris):

Read it all.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

ok....

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

so can i give you the song template so we can start please? :)

OpenStudy (lacris):

you want me to write the song for you?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

let me post the template :)

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

This template will help you write a song about ratifying the Constitution. Remember to include lines that explain checks and balances, as well as the viewpoints of the Federalists and Anti-federalists. In each section, each line should have nearly the same number of words. Opposite lines, meaning line numbers 1 and 3, or 2 and 4, should rhyme at the end. Feel free to use this template in a creative way. You could move the bridge to another location, for example, or use your own rhyming pattern. An example verse appears at the bottom. Song Title: ____________________ Songwriter (That's you!): ____________________ Reviewer (That's your parent or other trusted adult.): ____________________ Reviewer suggestions: ___________________________________________________________ Verse 1: This section describes specific details relating to the song's main idea. Chorus: This section contains lines that repeat after each verse. Usually the chorus contains the song title and main idea. Bridge: These lines are like a bridge linking two sections of the song. It shows a transition between moods or ideas. Verse 2: This section describes specific details relating to the song’s main idea, but is different from Verse 1. Chorus: This section contains lines that repeat after each verse (same as first chorus). Verse 3: This section describes specific details relating to the song’s main idea, but is different from Verse 1 or Verse 2. Chorus: This is the final repetition of the chorus. You may change a couple words or a whole line for dramatic effect. Example Chorus: Classes and notes can sure be a chore, When I do my own work, I get to rule. My own written ideas are never a bore, Civics is by far the best subject in school.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

are you there buddy? :)

OpenStudy (lacris):

okay you write the song, I will tell you about checks n balances. 1.s the legislation is like: hi, we have a bill we really like, everyone here likes it because the majority wins see, democracy right? Then they give it to the Executive branch. HENCE the name, executive, woah government people. Guess what, the president looks at it and other people there and if he likes it, he will be like, okay fam, this is it. ITS LAW. BUT if he's like: It stinks, no way. (which is VETOING it) the judicial branch comes it, so the legislation branch wont be bullied by the executive branch, You know? The judicial branch is the technical 2nd chance for the legislative branch. This is where all the big bucks come in for those lawyers out there, because if it turns out to be unfair, people get lawyers they sue each other whining about whats wrong then who ever has the biggest and strongest argument that actually makes sense, the judge will be like: This guy is right. And the law goes in or out. If the losing group is still crying about the law, they take it to the supreme court. If it still doesn't go through. The legalislation branch just makes the same law with a different name.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

but i stink at writing! :( can you write the song or help me please?

OpenStudy (lacris):

I can't do that, thats cheating xD you write the song, its your project, im just giving you information on the subject.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

i know but i really am not good at writing let alone writing songs :(

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

maybe like i can do soemthing for youif you write the song for me :)

OpenStudy (lacris):

no, I dont have time xD sorry

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

pleaseee i beg you.. if i dont finish this assignment im going to fail :(

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

would it help if i opened a document and i invited you to it so we can do it together?

OpenStudy (lacris):

we want to cancel out the x first right? So we multiple by the coefficient of 2 (but turn it to negative 2 to cancel out right)?

OpenStudy (lacris):

woah wrong question

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

what? lol

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

please help me though! pleasee

OpenStudy (lacris):

wait after my math hold on

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

ok fine... :)

OpenStudy (lacris):

Anti-Federalism refers to a movement that opposed the creation of a stronger U.S. federal government and which later opposed the ratification of the 1787 Constitution.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

what is that?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

@Lacris are you done now? lol

OpenStudy (lacris):

no not yet, but thats the anti federalists: its the people that say, I want independence and no government intervention

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

did you read the song template?

OpenStudy (lacris):

ok so the federalists will be like, I want more government power, dont limit it, so obviously they wont really like the checks and balances.

OpenStudy (lacris):

okay well the song can go, well at the beginning of the USAAAAA, we had a cute law called the checks and balances. We never wanted another King, so we made the Legislative, Excutive, and judicial branch. There.

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

@Lacris seems to have it so far.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

but it haas to ryhme.. lol read the song template

OpenStudy (lacris):

@jhonyy9 can you help me explain this? I'm trying to make it simplified :( but its not really working

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

and it has to has 4 lines in each verse :)

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

@undeadknight26

OpenStudy (lacris):

you need to sing it, songs just need a beat, if you want to make it rhyme, its a poem ahaha

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Not good at this stuff. If was the car civics I coulda done it but nah.

OpenStudy (lacris):

Ahahha, I was wondering if it was about the honda civic too. Does your honda civic have a door problem and weak paint?
