OpenStudy (nahuel):

What impression does the imagery used to depict the subject in these lines from a poem create? All Greece hates the still eyes in the white face, the lustre as of olives where she stands, and the white hands. (from "Helen" by H.D.) delicacy isolation insanity persecution

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

What do you think it is? Do you know what the question is asking you?

OpenStudy (nahuel):

I think Persecution, not so sure yet, would like a second opinion on it @kewlgeek555

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

This one is actually really hard. I actually would also go with persecution. Crossing my fingers that it's correct!

OpenStudy (nahuel):

Yeah, it's a confusing one :s

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Yeah, persecution seems like a good answer. One might say it has a sort of a delicate imagery, but the complete poem doesn't seem to be that way. And I don't think isolation or insanity would apply. The poem really isn't implying insanity or isolation. Persecution on the other had seems a bit more correct than delicacy. "Greece hates..." is an important hint and the word "white" and "luster" might be a sort of symbolism for something else, not just a color or description.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Let me know if it was correct or not. :#

OpenStudy (nahuel):

That's the same thing I thought as well, I like at some of the options there are it didn't go with the poem. I looked up almost every definition I could find of each word, just in case, and persecution is the only one that comes close to it.

OpenStudy (nahuel):

It was right :) @kewlgeek555

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Yay! I am glad. :P
