This is what I have for Step 1

China had many things going on for them, as in they had many natural resources, their education and scientific discoveries were steadily advancing, and had gained money from selling/ trading goods. Which in turn had made them wealthy and powerful. Many people from around the world came to this area because of the success. But in spite of their progress they had a weak military and didn't have good poltics. So European countries used that against them, and tried get as much as possible from them . Imperialism had changed China, it would not be what it has become today.

Imperialism impacted China in a negiative way. That is because of after trades and work, the British  had forced the Chinese into accepting pay of Opium instead of gold and silver. Gold and silver were becoming scarce, so in return began paying in a drug that would be addicting and they would want some more. But before that China had refused, but that started the first Opium War. The Britain won and China had to accept the Opium for payment. Eventually Opium was removed and became drugless
