Atsie (atsie):

I keep getting confused over and over again.

Atsie (atsie):

What is the slope of the line graphed by the equation -2x + 3y = 6? And then the graph below.......which is this precise equation I have to find the slope of the line using y=mx+b and I'm a little lost somehow.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Start with -2x+3y = 6. Add 2x to both sides to get 3y = 2x+6 From here, what must be done to isolate y?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

hint: 3y means "3 times y"

Atsie (atsie):

But if thats 3 times y then what does y resemble?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what is the opposite of multiplication?

Atsie (atsie):

Division right?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes so we must divide both sides by 3 to isolate y
