What is a case study format when writing an essay?

The term "case study" doesn't mean much more than to simply imply that, essentially, the topic of your essay should be written with a "case-by-case" or "specific" format, engineered to whatever topic you've been assigned. To clarify things, your teacher is asking, in a more complicated way, to write an essay based on "evaluating the nutritional quality of an adolescent athlete's food choices and making food choices."
