Christianity was a religion founded on a message of salvation.Who was the founder and what did he experience in his life that influenced the belief system?
Um.. This is a very controversial topic, and if it's an actual curriculum based question, then it should have been something that you've read in class. For many Christians, the answer could simply be Christ. I'm not quite sure how to give you the answer you're looking for.
Ohh the full question is :Christianity was a religion founded on a message of salvation.Who was the founder and what did he experience in his life that influenced the belief system? How did the Roman Empire react to this new religion?
So in that case, it would be the Roman Empire
This makes a lot more sense in relation to history! I have to go to my room and grab my notes. I took notes on this my senior year of high school, do you mind?
And no, it was not the roman empire. They created Catholicism, very different
No, not at all! :)
Awesome! Be right back!
Okay!! Didn't take too long to find it. :) Um..
In my notes it says it started with Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, so, before, I said Christ, which would be Jesus
Oh, sorry I was on another page! Thank you!
And it had started in the Roman Empire, hundreds of years later over 15% of Romans had converted to Christianity. Christianity had helped the political stability, social grievances and missionary efforts. By the way, this is directly from my notes, so, word for word.
Thank you soo much!
Jesus' experiences in his life, I haven't covered so I don't know about that
I mean, taking stuff from the bible would be easy, but I don't know if it'd help
Maybe it will XD idk
Do you know much about the Bible, or have you ever read it?
No, I have never read it, but Ive heard many stories from it.
@Jadeishere :)
Okay, so, just letting you know, my opinion is biased because I am Christian, so this is not coming from a textbook or direct Bible quotes Jesus was born to a Virgin Mother (Virgin Mary) and it had happened in Bethlehem. (If you want to learn more or get more accurate recollections of the event, look up "The Nativity of Jesus") That was just one experience Um, he had healed many people by touch, or simply by command. He had cured people of leprosy, any illness really, and he even had raised people from the dead, such as Lazarus. 4 days after his death, Jesus brought him to life.
There are more, do you want more stories or no?
sure :)
Okay :D He was baptized by John The Baptist in the Jordan River, and after that he was in the desert for forty days and nights then was approached by the Devil, or whatever you'd like to call him, and was tempted several times, finally he told Satan to "Be gone from me" and quoted the Bible by saying that "Thou shalt only worship the Lord your God" One of the Ten Commandments
Um.. He had 12 disciples, but many followers. Pharisees and Sadducee's had tried to test him, trying to make him prove his knowledge of God, prove that he was the Messiah, then when he was 33 when he died, put to death by Pilot, the Roman King/emperor guy and put on a cross, then was dead for 3 days, then rose and ascented to Heaven, proving him to be the Son of God
Like I said, I'm biased.. So I tried to tell them as I recalled them, not how I interpret them
Thank you soooooooo much! wow! This information is very interesting :)
No problem! If you're genuinely interested in learning more, you could just look it up, but if it's just for a class, glad I could help!
