OpenStudy (afloridagirl):

Which numbers should be multiplied to obtain 1832 − 1392? 44 and 44 1936 and 1936 44 and 322 33350 and 33628

OpenStudy (afloridagirl):

is it a?

OpenStudy (afloridagirl):

@agent0smith

OpenStudy (afloridagirl):

anyone?

OpenStudy (afloridagirl):

wait is it b?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the question confuses me!! is that a subtraction of numbers or a range of numbers? 1832 - 1392?

OpenStudy (phi):

it would help if you showed that there is an exponent the problem is not 1832 − 1392 it is \[ 183^2 − 139^2 \] which you could show by writing it as 183^2 − 139^2

OpenStudy (phi):

and they expect you to know how to "factor" a^2 - b^2 into (a-b)(a+b)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

ah - i see that makes sense - yes use the '^' for powers of numbers

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Hint: \(a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b)\)

OpenStudy (afloridagirl):

im getting a

OpenStudy (afloridagirl):

i got it wrong it wasnt a

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

yeah what is 183 + 139 and 183 - 139?
