chris bought a car for $15 800.after a year it was worth 20% less. how much was it worth after a year? I just want to get ready for future grades

sam (.sam.):

Well you gotta find out what's the amount reduced in 20% of $15800 then, do you know how to find it?

sam (.sam.):

You can do like this, whenever you want to find the 'value' from a percentage, you divide the percentage by 100, then multiply the original value \[\frac{20 \%}{100 \%} \times $15800=$3160\] $3160 is the less amount. So, after a year, you just subtract $15800 with $3160 you will get how much it's worth after a year.
