I missed part of the question in my formula.... the correct rate of application is 40/10000 lbs/sq feet I only had the 40 Use unit analysis to help get the right answer. 40/10000 (pounds/square feet) times ___?___(square feet / acre) time 320 (acre) times 1 (ton / 2000 pound) = ________ tons You can google how many square feet in an acre. 43560 sq feet/acre so.... the pounds (lbs) acre and square feet cancel out leaving tons 40/10000 (lbs/sq ft) x 43560 (sq ft/acre) x 320 (acre) x 1/2000 (ton/lbs) = 27.88 tons
