OpenStudy (maemae16):

hey i need help

OpenStudy (maemae16):

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

use the formula given A = P(1+r)^t where P = 1000, r = 0.08, and A = 1300 then solve for t

OpenStudy (maemae16):

ok

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

let me know what you get

OpenStudy (maemae16):

how do u solve for an exponent I’ve never had to do that before

OpenStudy (maemae16):

@Vocaloid

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

use logarithms

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

1300 = 1000(1.08)^t divide both sides by 1300 to get 1.3 = (1.08)^t then log (base 1.08) of each side to get log_1.08(1.3) = t

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

you can calculate that by entering log(1.3)/log(1.08) to get your answer

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

*** entering into a calculator

OpenStudy (maemae16):

so its 3.40905295

OpenStudy (maemae16):
