OpenStudy (coolboysam123):

Ken is three times as old as Emma. Sam is half as old as Emma. The sum of their ages is 63. How is each of them ?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Let's write out the equations: K for Ken E for Emma S for Sam K = 3E S = 1/2E K + E + S = 63 Hint: Substitute the first two equations in to the third and solve for Emma first. And then plug in Emma's age in to the first two equations to find out Ken's age and Sam's age.
