OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

How do I find where ? is located?

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

@sweetburger

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

I think this is unsolvable. I am researching online to find the answer.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

x+y = 9 y = 9-x

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

I got an answer of 6.29

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

6.125

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the triangles are similar (AA similarity theorem), so we can form the proportion 4700/y = 2500/x 4700/(9-x) = 2500/x ... plug in y = 9-x

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

solve 4700/(9-x) = 2500/x for x and you should get x = 25/8 = 3.125

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

I got 3.125

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

nvm about the previous answer I got. When I first solved this I was using 9-x/4700 = x/2500

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

an alternative is to use coordinate geometry |dw:1468539203986:dw|
