OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

STEPS • Review your CAP file. • Make sure you have a list of rights from the lesson listed in the file. • Circle or highlight the right that you think is most important. • Write a paragraph that explains why you think this right is most important. Any choice of right is correct, but you must use information from the lesson to explain your choice. • Write a second paragraph to explain how this right is protected and how you think it might be limited. • Read the Discussion Posting Guidelines. Then post your two paragraphs to the discussion area. • Respond to at least two other students' posts. Tell them why you agree with their explanations or what you would add. Use information from the lesson in your posts.

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

Is that it?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

correct thats the assignment :)

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

This is an opinion assignment

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

i know but i still need your help

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

Basically you write a paragraph on which amendment you think is the most important. (Recommendation: Use one from the bill of rights)

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

So lets start there.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

ok!

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

Which amendment do you think is the most important to you?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

the 1st! freedom of speech :)

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

Amendment 1 Freedoms, Petitions, Assembly Amendment 2 Right to bear arms Amendment 3 Quartering of soldiers Amendment 4 Search and arrest Amendment 5 Rights in criminal cases Amendment 6 Right to a fair trial Amendment 7 Rights in civil cases Amendment 8 Bail, fines, punishment Amendment 9 Rights retained by the People Amendment 10 States' rights

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

Are you sure you want to use freedom of speech?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

is it a good one? im good with whatever you pick lol :)

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

Freedom of speech is good. Just write 3-5 sentences on why you believe why the freedoms are important. Start off with... I believe the first amendment, Freedom of speech is the most important amendment to me because...

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

after you write 3-5 sentences supporting your claim tell me when your done

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

ok um, but i dont know what to write. :( im a bad writer and my teacher always gives me a bad grade when i write :/

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

can you help me like write it please?

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

For this you really can't fail, all you need to do is write why freedom of speech is personally your favorite. You have to make the best out of FLVS.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

okie dokie! ill try

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

which amendment did you pick? :)

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

lol it doesn't matter but freedom of speech is the easiest

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

or!!! what if i tell you why i think its important and you like transform it into sentences because im not good at writing sentences lol..

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

:/ I can't give you direct answers its against the COC

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

i know... :)

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

:D Have you completed the sentences?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

yes im actually doing the second paragraph now! almost done

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

Alright tell me when you have completed it and I'll go over it.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

ok

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

alrighty this is paragraph one : I think the First Amendment ( The Freedom of speech) is the most important amendment because people are able to talk about their opinions freely and meet people groups. Such as gathering for their party’s, religions, and petitions. They can talk about their ideas on the newspapers or on internet. They can do this because they have that right and don't have to worry about getting thrown in jail for sharing their political, religious, and personal ideas.

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

100%

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

:D

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

Paragraph 2?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

The amendment is protected by letting people say what they want openly. One limitation is that we cannot scare other people. For example if you were in an airplane cannot scream/yell bomb that would cause panic . Also when you're online you cannot spread lies about someone you hate that would be libel and it could ruin the person's life forever.

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

^YES 100% Thats good submit it

OpenStudy (zootedyoungin):

oh and you need to - Respond to at least two other students' posts. Tell them why you agree with their explanations or what you would add. Use information from the lesson in your posts.

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):
