please help!! will give medal!
Its a subtype of Gene Drift! They follow the so called founder effect which means that an ancestor of the finches once made it to one of the islands and then changes because of natural selection. Gene drift itselfe means an random event which alters the allelfrequency within a givin population. As soon as a few birds made it to one island they became seperated and "drifty". Then they became an subspecies of the whole finche species because of a lack of gene flow between the species.
