OpenStudy (trejodiana800):

If F(x)=x-2 what is the inverse of F(x)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

find x in terms of F(x) then replace the F(x) by x this gives the inverse function F(-1)x

zepdrix (zepdrix):

^ This is procedurally how you should do it, yes. But since you have a single operation, it might be easier to think about it logically. If we had 3*x (3 multiplying x) The inverse would be whatever operation is the `opposite` of multiplication. So the inverse would be x/3 (x divided by 3). For your problem, simply apply the `opposite of subtracting 2`.
