In which situation would you most likely factor out -1 from a trinomial? A. When the coefficient of x^2 is negative B. When the coefficient of x is negative C. When the constant term is negative

OpenStudy (lilah):

dude oh my freaken goodness I've been tagging people on here for a good 20 minutes and i even message them asking them for help and they're so rude they totally ignore me! lol

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

There there buddy it happens.

OpenStudy (lilah):

omg but you dont understand! like i even got a little mad haha xD cause what the hell they would even go on to other people's questions and im over here waiting for them to look at mine after ive been tagging them and asking them like wow ppl need to get smacked lol

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The question is a bit vague. That may be why people aren't able to answer. However, I think it would be if you had something like -1x^2 + 5x - 6 which would factor to -1*(x^2-5x+6). Notice how the signs flip. Then you'd factor x^2-5x+6 to get (x-3)(x-2). The -3 and -2 add to -5. The -3 and -2 multiply to +6 So overall, -1x^2 + 5x - 6 completely factors to -1(x-3)(x-2)

OpenStudy (lilah):

it is but that's how the question is and nah no one even bothered looking but whatever

OpenStudy (lilah):

thanks though

OpenStudy (lilah):

@undeadknight26 do you know it?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so I'm thinking it would be `A. When the coefficient of x^2 is negative` based on the example I wrote but @undeadknight26 may have another perspective

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

If Jimmy has no idea I don't have any idea sorry hun. Jims knowledge vasty destroys mine.

OpenStudy (lilah):

@jim_thompson5910 thank you

OpenStudy (lilah):

@undeadknight26 thanks for bothering to look ur seriously my favorite person on here i swear lol

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome @Lilah

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Haha I've only helped you with two. I'm rusty when it comes to this type of knowledge, a bit better with car smarts and improvising mostly. Not smart at this type of stuff any more.

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Shhhhh I get in trouble for that (<.<")(=.=)("=.=)

OpenStudy (lilah):

sorry x) i'll take it off
