If a cheetah travels from point A to point B at 70mph in 15 minutes and then travels back to point A at 40mph in 26.25 minutes, what is the average speed?

I would do: total distance / total time

total time is 15+26.25= 41.25 minutes
in hours that is 41.25 /60 = 0.6875 hours

you also need the total distance in miles
you can find the one way distance using
rate * time = distance
use 70 mph and 0.25 hours (i.e. 15 minutes but in hours)
then double that to get the total distance
