someone Please help The variable Z is directly proportional to X. When X is 6, Z has the value 18. What is the value of Z when X = 10

OpenStudy (dragontears1128):

?

OpenStudy (dragontears1128):

does it equal 30

OpenStudy (dragontears1128):

@robtobey2

OpenStudy (slenderman):

ok so looking at that what i would suggest is to make a table of sorts, and knowing the base values unless given extra information just assume that the relationship is Z=3X

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

The variable Z is directly proportional to X. When X is 6, Z has the value 18. What is the value of Z when X = 10 \[\frac{ 6 }{ 10 } =\frac{ 18 }{ a }\]

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

When x = 6 z = 18 when x = 10 z = a solve for a

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Cross multiply 6a = 180 Divide by 6 a = 30

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

When x = 6 z = 18 when x = 10 z = 30

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

It's almost like a conversion key. 3 is the magical number.
