Using the following data, calculate the mean absolute deviation: 10 7 1 6 7 9 8 10 2 5 What is the mean absolute deviation for these data? (4 points) 2 2.4 6.5 7
Mean: Add all the numbers then divide by the amount of numbers there are.
@karatechopper would it be 6.5
yes! Correct :) .
K thx
@karatechopper it was wrong
it was 2.4
wot..
yea here let me screen shot it
OH WAIT This is dif concept..
Mean abs. deviation is standard deviation. You can do it the long way, or use a calculator.
You line from the middle and all riht
;-; that was worth 20 points
I'm sorry :/
it got me down to an C when i was a low A
;-;
Mean deviation is different from finding mean of a data
we know now @mayankdevnani
so can you solve it ?
Mean deviation is distance from middle value correct?
it is median
Yea i now it B
Good !
I thought mean deviation is like, find the mean, then take all the distances from that mean from the other values and add together and then divide by the amount of numbers?
Median is simply the middle value of the entire set of data.
My bad, it's not standard deviation, it's much simpler. http://mrsgalgebra.pbworks.com/f/1280412776/MAD%20formula.JPG It looks complex but is simple (just tedious)
