please help okay this is what i know so far just need a better understanding of this thanks Given f(x)=3x+4 and g(x)=8x+1 then what is (f−g)(0))? hope this is right so far.... (3x+4-8x+1)(0)

OpenStudy (kl0723):

is that times zero at the end or evaluated at zero?

OpenStudy (dragontears1128):

im not really sure exacly bc im very confused

OpenStudy (kl0723):

should be evaluated at zero if not the whole problem makes no sense, so you have f-g

OpenStudy (kl0723):

so then that is: (3x+4)-(8x+1)

OpenStudy (kl0723):

3x+4-8x-1 = ?

OpenStudy (kl0723):

-5x + 3

OpenStudy (kl0723):

now evaluate the difference of the functions at zero, in other words when x=0

OpenStudy (kl0723):

-5(x=0)+3

OpenStudy (kl0723):

that's just 3

OpenStudy (kl0723):

hope that helped

OpenStudy (dragontears1128):

thank you

OpenStudy (kl0723):

welcome!
