OpenStudy (yatonoragami):

Which table correctly shows all the sample spaces for tossing a coin and rolling an even number on a six-sided number cube?

OpenStudy (yatonoragami):

OpenStudy (yatonoragami):

Anyone?

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

I think its C

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

Because notice that is says "even" numbers

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

But I'm not sure, sorry I'm new😂

OpenStudy (yatonoragami):

I dont know, I feel like that would be to simple

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

Sometimes the simplest things are the easiest

OpenStudy (yatonoragami):

But I dont think they would put that as the answer.. Is there any math to your answer?

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

Yeah I have a feeling its C because if you look at the question they're indicating that the number cube is going to be all evens so if you make all the outcomes you should have the same numbers for heads and tails because it's a probability

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

So yes its C

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

And plus the options are equally impaired

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

Do you get it?

OpenStudy (yatonoragami):

Not reallllly

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

If you toss a coin, what outcomes can you have?

OpenStudy (yatonoragami):

2 heads or tails

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Correct. Let's say you toss a coin, and you get heads. Afterwards, you roll the die. There are 6 possible outcomes of the die, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6. That means you could have any one of the following outcomes for the toss and the roll: Heads, 1 Heads, 2 Heads, 3 Heads, 4 Heads, 5 Heads, 6 If you had rolled tails instead of heads, you'd have 6 outcomes similar to the ones above, except they'd all start with heads instead of tails. The problem is interested in the outcome of tossing a coin (heads or tails) followed by rolling an even number on the die. That means you can have Heads, 2 Heads, 4 Heads 6. Tails, 2 Tails, 4 Tails, 6 Put all 6 outcomes above together, and those are the only outcomes your problem is interested in. Now pick which table represents those 6 outcomes.

OpenStudy (yatonoragami):

So it would be C?

OpenStudy (yatonoragami):

Well, the second one you posted.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Correct. The answer is Heads, 2 Heads, 4 Heads 6. Tails, 2 Tails, 4 Tails, 6 Which is C.
