Which statement is correct about a line and a point? A line and a point can be collinear. A point has no location, and a line has many points located on it. A point and a line do not have any dimensions to measure. A line and a point lie on different planes. ________________________________________________ I chose A is it right?

OpenStudy (itoldyouso):

Are you sure?

OpenStudy (theonlymathmagician):

Its C

OpenStudy (theonlymathmagician):

The third one. Collinear refers to lines, and lines only. A point obviously has location. And points and lines usually DO lie on the same plane.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

It's not C. A line has one dimension, length. A point has no dimensions.

OpenStudy (itoldyouso):

Hmmmm.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

It is definitely not C.

OpenStudy (theonlymathmagician):

Then what is it buddy?

OpenStudy (theonlymathmagician):

Tell us!

OpenStudy (theonlymathmagician):

If you think youre so righ!

OpenStudy (theonlymathmagician):

Any day now....

OpenStudy (justindrewbieber):

My apologies it's actually A.

OpenStudy (itoldyouso):

Okay

OpenStudy (justindrewbieber):

You chose the right answer

OpenStudy (itoldyouso):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (justindrewbieber):

your welcome

OpenStudy (itoldyouso):

Can you help me with another question

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Let's look at each choice. A. Collinear means on the same line. If a point lies on a line, the point is collinear with the line. Therefore, A can be. B. A point is an undefined term, but a point can be thought of as a location in space. B is false. C. A line has length. A point has no dimensions. The length of as line is infinite, but it does have length. D. Any line and a point lie in at least one plane. If the point lies on the line, the line and the point are in an infinite number of planes. If the point does not lie on the line, then there is exactly one plane that contains the line and the point. Therefore D is false.

OpenStudy (itoldyouso):

Thank you! I thought it was A ;p
