Please help I'll give a medal! The function f(x)=-x^2 + 44x -384 models the daily profit, in dollars, a shop makes for selling donut combos, where x is the number of combos sold and f(x) is the amount of profit. Part A: determine the vertex. What does this calculation mean in the context of the problem? Part B: Determine the x-intercepts. What do these values mean in the context of the problem?

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

And I'll fan

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

Anyone??

OpenStudy (triciaal):

do you know how to factor a quadratic? or use the quadratic formula to find the x values?

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

Kind of, not really

OpenStudy (triciaal):

the vertex is the maximum or minimum point for the quadratic function

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

So how do I solve it?

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

If your looking to find the coordinates of the vertex you can use the equation\[x=\frac{ -b }{ 2a }\]This will give you a x coordinate which you can plug back into the original function to find the y-coordinate.

OpenStudy (hvploe_):

For part A?
