OpenStudy (yolo_king):

Two number cubes are rolled. What is the probability that the sum of the numbers rolled is either a 4 or a 10? 1. 7/36 2. 1/6 3. 5/648 4. 1/144

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

I tried solving for this one but I can't get it I know I have to add the two fractions...

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

@sweetburger

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum12):

There are only 3 ways: 1+3, 2+2, and 3+1 How many ways can you roll a sum of 10? Again, there are only 3 ways: 4+6, 5+5, and 6+4 So there are six possible combinations that will yield a sum of 4 or 10. There are 36 (or 6²) possible combinations from two dice, so the probability of rolling a 4 or a 10 is 6/36 or 1/6.

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

THank you so much!!!

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum12):

yourwelcome

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum12):

:D

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

Question!!!

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

Cant you sum 10 with 9 +1 or 1+9

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum12):

yes?

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

So how are there only 3 ways to sum 10??

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

Im just confused :/

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum12):

1+9 is 10 but there are only 6 numbers on a dice

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

OMG im so stupid didint think about that

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum12):

lol

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

THankkkkkksss can u help me with another one?

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum12):
