d

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Your line will be going like so:

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Since there is no rate of chance it will just stay where it is.

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

it means the x component is missing??

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

No it just means the x component stays the same.

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

ohk

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

For example. (1,2) (1,10) (1,3000) Would be Slope 0.

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

constant?

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

yes absolutely

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

See if Jim can explain it better :)

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

that wood be if we have aalinear relation??

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

@undeadknight26 you may be mixing up vertical and horizontal lines horizontal lines have slope of zero vertical lines have undefined slope

OpenStudy (yumyum247):

yes..

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

One example you can do is imagine throwing a ball into the air. It goes up with some speed, then comes back down to the ground. The average rate of change from where it starts to where it ends up is going to be 0. This is assuming the ball is thrown up from the ground and lands back at the ground

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Possibly I haven't done this type of stuff in a while and I forget easily. As I said wait to see what Jim says.
