Let's say we had f(x) = sqrt(x) g(x) = -2-x^2 the two functions above are defined for certain values of x. In the case of f, the domain is x >= 0. In the case of g, the domain is the set of all real numbers. However, h(x) = f[g(x)] is undefined for all real numbers x To see why, look at the range of g(x). The range is y <= -2. The largest output you can get out of g(x) is -2. You can't get anything larger. So NONE of the outputs are positive, which means that when you plug that into f(x), you run into problems. This page has a similar example https://people.richland.edu/james/lecture/m116/functions/combinations.html
yes thanks jim, i got it now!!❤❤
