The table below represents a linear function f(x) and the equation represents a function g(x): x f(x) −1 −9 0 −1 1 7 g(x) g(x) = 3x − 2 Part A: Write a sentence to compare the slope of the two functions and show the steps you used to determine the slope of f(x) and g(x). (6 points) Part B: Which function has a greater y-intercept? Justify your answer.

Part A Steps: 1. Pick and two points from f(x) and apply the slope formula: \(\sf slope(m)=\Large \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\). This will be the slope of f(x). 2. g(x) is in the slope-intercept form: \(\sf y=\color{red}{m}x+b\), you just have to copy the \(\sf \color{red}{m}\) value from the equation. This is the slope of g(x). 3. After getting the values, you can now compare the two slopes. 5. Tell me what you will get and I'll check them (:
@11study11 come here
y=8x+b
@Data_Lg2
hmm what did you get for the slope of f(x)?
8 is right
now what did you get for the slope of g(x)?
?
g(x) = 3x − 2 in the form of y = mx + b, where m is the slope so what did you get as the slope is what data is asking :P
