Check my work

OpenStudy (acespeedfighter):

The number of pets owned by eight classmates is shown below: 1, 3, 2, 2, 1, 3, 3, 1 Part A: What is the mean of the data? Show your work. (4 points) Part B: Use your answer from Part A to calculate the mean absolute deviation for the data. Show your work. (6 points)

OpenStudy (acespeedfighter):

Part A: 1+3+2+2+1+3+3+1 which is 16 then since there 8 number you divide 16/8 which is 2, so the mean would be 2. Part B: first we find how far is 2 from 1, 3, 2, 2, 1, 3, 3, 1 so it is 1,1,0,0,1,1,1,1 so then we add those number and we get 6 we then divide by 8 and its 6/8 and we get 0.75

@pooja195

OpenStudy (ribhu):

its correct

OpenStudy (acespeedfighter):

Ok thx @ribhu

OpenStudy (ribhu):

just make sure that you mention the role of modulus while finding the distance of mean from the point

OpenStudy (acespeedfighter):

Ok

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yes good job
