Basically first figure out the equation of the two shapes this is made out of, and then figure where the graph shifts from one type to the other type.

You are close, but the intervals are at what x's are each graph shown, so the first is going from -infinity to 2 non inclusive and the second is going from 2 to 4 not including 4.

oh also the second graph appears to me to be at a height of 5 not 4.
