PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! In what four ways did the United States change after the end of the Spanish-American War? The added possessions meant new responsibilities for the United States. The United States navy increased in size. The United States involvement in international affairs decreased. The United States involvement in international affairs increased. Agriculture increased in the United States following the war. Naval resources were depleted after the war. Industry declined after the war. The United States became one of the least productive countries on earth.

I am confident that statement 1 is true since America claimed many lands such as Texas from Mexico which added more states/responsibilities to the government. I am unsure about statements concerning the navy. I believe that it is more likely that American involvement in international affairs increased after the war. I only say this because the next major war after the Spanish-American was World War I and World War II which involved most major international superpowers. I do not know anything about the geology or industrial areas of the lands claimed from Mexico so I do not know if the agriculture was suitable for America which could lead to an increase. I would probably choose the statement about agriculture as a last resort instead of a decline in industrial power. I am confident that the last statement must be false since America won the war and grew as an economy. So in conclusion, I am confident that the first statement are true. I also believe that the statement claiming that international affairs involving America increased afterwards. That leaves you with the statements concerning the Navy, agriculture, and industrial power of America. If it were me, I would choose agriculture since I can predict that the lands claimed from Mexico are very fertile and humid, which should be suitable for many types of expensive cash crops. I actually just googled the crops grown in Texas and it says that Texas is the #1 producer of cotton which is their biggest cash crop and even made it their official "state fiber." They also carry a large amount of livestock for sale as well as the creation of tobacco. That leaves you with 1 more statement to find as true. Remaining statements to decide between are: The United States navy increased in size. Naval resources were depleted after the war. Industry declined after the war. It is most likely a tossup between the statements concerning the navy. Considering many people think of America to have strong military prowess and most of our parents taxes going to the military, I think it would be safe to assume that the navy increased in size. You may want to research a bit before going with my answer on this one.
