Is there a way where we can edit our answers? Or am I blind?
You can post another reply on your post correcting your previous reply. You can edit the question, however.
Well, I would rather be able to edit my post and make it look all nice and neat, you know?
Not edit my post, edit my answer. See how much this would come in handy?
Yeah, unfortunately we can't edit our answers. That would make it a lot confusing if people edited what they said. We would need an edit log for replies too. But then it would most likely only be given to moderators and not normal users.
Well, let's start something! Maybe a IndieGogo or something?
Yeah I think if you were able to edit your answers people could give out direct answers left and right and then edit them once the person got the answer and what not. Also people could say something bad and then edit that as well idk theres just things to consider
We could literally have a post and two answers and be done. This train would move so much faster.
What all do you need to edit? or how often.. the idea has its pros and cons
Well, maybe a mistake in spelling. Instead of making a whole new answer just to correct that word, we could edit that. Or maybe you accidentally typed out an equation wrong, and it's practically really long. I don't wanna do it all over again, it must've been a pain in my neck to do this, so instead we could edit that too.
Yes I get that, that happens to me some times it would be great to edit it instead of re writing things I do agree. Perhaps they could give this idea a shot although I have no idea when they would apply it.. it would probably be added way down the road if they did want to give it a try
Well, we could only hope for the best, right? :)
Right!
copy and paste and fix the errors
^ also, we don't give answers here. We guide the asker to the answer. Just want to clarify on that.
If it's a long thing in the equation, you can right click the equation and select "Show math as" and then select "TeX commands" and you get the code for the equation and all you have to do is add a `\(` to the beginning and a `\)` to the end
