Graph the pair of lines, given the following information. Use slopes to determine whether the lines are parallel, perpendicular, or neither. Line WX includes points W(3, 1) and X(3, -2) Line YZ includes points Y(-2, 3) and Z(4, 3) The lines are parallel. The lines are perpendicular. The lines are neither parallel nor perpendicular.

OpenStudy (campayne):

just so y'all know there's supposed to be a space between the coordinates and the sentences with "lines" in them

sam (.sam.):

sam (.sam.):

What do you think? Are the lines parallel or perpendicular?

OpenStudy (campayne):

i think they're neither

sam (.sam.):

They are perpendicular according to the slopes for these coordinates

sam (.sam.):

Why neither?

OpenStudy (campayne):

idk that was my guess since parallel means they're together but idk what perpendicular meant

OpenStudy (campayne):

how perpendicular?

sam (.sam.):

Nope, parallel lines are line do not or never meet each other ie. intersect at some point, perpendicular lines are when line meet each other at right angles 90 degrees

OpenStudy (campayne):

i see now

OpenStudy (campayne):

thanks gurrrl

sam (.sam.):

No problem ;)
