A filter proposition :)
Okay! So it seems that many mods are wanting to filter some inappropriate acronyms, which IS understandable, but very hard to enforce without some retaliation. What if, instead of filtering acronyms that are swears, we filter them so that all acronyms are changed. It'll make the site seem more friendly and kind of funny, making new users think that the site is easy and more.. Open to things. For example; Lol - Laughing here omg - Oh wow! or Oh my!

I like this :) Sadly no new features are going to be added anytime soon e.e
I absolutely love this idea! But I think our admins have been doig this alrealy. Remember our filter swaps like flutter, retrice ? Don't you find them funny anymore ?
While yes, they are funny to me, I am in the chats, seeing the newer users getting flustered with them. To be honest, I think all of the mods should spend a few days in the chats, but as new users. Make another account and really see the "abuse" that some of the newer users go through, and almost no one is willing to help them understand OS anymore. So they don't understand the filters, or what they're doing to protect users, all they see is their right to swear taken away.
Like I said before, change the bad acronym to the good form of the acronym - if there is any. It'll seem like a typo. It'll cause less chaos. It's just better. lmao or lmfao filtered to lmbo or lol omfg to omg wtf to I Love OpenStudy (if this happens, you have no idea how excited I will be) and so on
I can go undercover B)
Omg sammi great one :')
What have the admins been doig lately? @ganeshie8
*Doing And if you want to ask a question not pertaining to the flitering, I'd recommend asking it in the "Ask a question" box :) Not trying to be snobby, just suggesting something that can help you get answers faster!
*filtering, haha oops >.<
My incorrect spelling was deliberate. One of my role models is Ganesh.
This was a great idea!! :)
