Motivational speech below.
I refuse to sit here and think that OS will be dead soon, I just can't. We should not let the fact that Brainly has bought this site overcome what we have. OpenStudy, we're a family for crying out loud. Are you really gonna let some business decide your presence on the site? We need to grow again. We need to show Brainly who's boss. I'm not saying we should convince them to reverse the purchase, because honestly, that would be stupid, nobody would be CEO because nobody can hire back Preetha unless Michal (Brainly CEO) did so. But anyway, we need to bring OS to its original state. Whether that means advertising, sending emails, making phone calls. Call me crazy but we're dying. This whole operation we might pull is like our last breath on the Internet, and it determines whether you wanna live or not. Cause again, we are a family, we stick together. Who's with me?

I'd like to belive the recent decline in users is primarly due to the summer holidays. I haven't looked up the stats, but all US based education sites must be experiencing the same slow down. About the acquisition - This is going to work in our favor and there is absolutely nothing to worry about for the users of Openstudy. Heard of the recent acquisitions : Verizon acquiring Yahoo and Softbank acquiring the UK semiconductor giant ARM ? Mergers and acquisitions are pretty common and are necessary for the growth. However, Brainly acquiring Openstudy might be risky to the employees of Openstudy. It would not have a negative impact on the users. For sure, we're not gonna disappear. I even think this is beneficial to the users of Openstudy. Below is a excerpt from the management : "Both platforms will operate as separately branded entities with their own respective websites and apps, Brainly said in the statement. " https://thejournal.com/articles/2016/06/15/brainly-acquires-openstudy.aspx Your love for the site is really touching. Inviting our friends and spreading the good word is the least we could do as caring users of Openstudy !
How will it work in our favor?
Good question! I have seen many acquisitions before, but I may not be able to justify this to you. Let me try. In simple terms, X acquires Y because X thinks Y is irresistibly cute and believes it has a great potental for growth. This is the reason for sudden rise in share prices soon after an acquisition is announced. New management scares employees because there will be layoffs and internal transfers when they reorganize the business units. These are essential for improving the efficiency of the business. Definitely, employess are gonna get affected by this. But the quality is likely to get better when the management focuses on a particular group and implements changes. If the quality of the service gets better, the end user naturally benifits.
i think dogs are irresistibly cute but i am unable to acquire one
Haha I completely agree that dogs are irresistibly cute, loyal and the man's best friend ! I hope your plans of acquiring one materialize soon :)
I hate dogs.

Ooooo
Don't quit your day job.
@jamarshall2911 That's a lie! A speech is a vocalized form of communication.
@Wit I have made numerous written speeches on this site before and many people have listened and replied to me. Not all speeches have to be vocalized physically with your voice.
You might like to do some more research.
What happens if you have a job at both companies and they merge? Double promotion? ;o
@TheSmartOne That's not confusing in the least. The company that bought the other company would combine your salaries and give you the original salary of the company that bought the other one and that original salary would be the same salary of the company that bought the other company so it doesn't even matter what the salary of the company that was bought is. If the companies were to merge, not in this case, you would get twice your salary divided by two unless you still keep both jobs in which case you will get the same amount of income but if the company were to have rules for having multiple jobs you would only get one salary.
You smart. You loyal. You’re grateful. I appreciate that. Go buy your momma a house. Go buy your whole family houses. Put this money in your savings account. Go spend some money for no reason. Come back and ask for more.
@rebeccaxhawaii Thank you for the compliments but you're underrating my intelligence.
