Phytoplankton--->Zooplankton--->Krill-... small fish--->small fish--->big fish--->penguin--->seal--->Polar bear. Take the Krill out of there and the food chain changes dramatically as a major food source for all above it disappears. In other words "massive starvation". Not only that, but plankton types explode in population due to a lack of natural predators. I will also state that Krill feed on both types of Plankton.
