They are referring to Section A (approximations) at http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-01-single-variable-calculus-fall-2006/readings/course-reader/ Apparently, when they created the Self-study version of 18.01, they missed these notes, which are available in the 18.01 version.
