check my answer? In what direction and by how many units is the graph of f(x) = 6 sin(2x + π) − 5 vertically and horizontally shifted? (1 point) Down 5, left pi over 2 Up 5, left pi over 2 Down 5, right pi over 2 Up 5, right pi over 2 i got Down 5, left pi over 2

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Yes you are correct on both parts of the answer. Nice job. The -5 at the end means "move the parent function down 5 units" the 2x+pi turns into 2(x+pi/2) = 2(x - (-pi/2)) so that tells us to shift left pi/2 units

OpenStudy (supersquidsisters):

@jim_thompson5910 thank you!!
