6 million Jews died during the war during the Nazi reign. After the war, many people left Europe to go to Israel, the U.S. and a few other countries such as Palestine, Britain and Canada. At least 68,000 came to the U.S. while it's possible that 170,000 Jews went to Israel by 1953.
