Are you familiar with Rutherford's Gold Foil experiment?

This question can be splitted into two parts 1- How was proton discovered? 2- How was Neutron discovered? 1- Proton was discovered/confirmed by the bombardment of alpha rays in a thin sheet of gold foil. This experiment is called the Rutherford's alpha ray scattering experiment. 2- Neutrons were discovered while figuring out the atomic masses and numbers of different elements for the preparation of modern periodic table. It was found that some of the elements didn't had their atomic masses double their atomic number. If you want detailed information check out web archives.....
