Barbie is analyzing a circle, y2 + x2 = 16, and a linear function g(x). Will they intersect?

OpenStudy (katecc379):

OpenStudy (katecc379):

would it be a?

OpenStudy (katecc379):

@Hero

hero (hero):

The best thing to do is to plot it out by hand then draw a line through it. You will be able to see for yourself what happens. But do not draw any conclusion before plotting points for g(x) and drawing a line through the points using a straightedge.

OpenStudy (katecc379):

so a?

hero (hero):

Do as I suggested first. Then post what you've done here. Then we can discuss afterwards.

OpenStudy (katecc379):

ah so they would intersect at negative and positive? wasn't thinking about the line continuing

OpenStudy (katecc379):

@Hero

hero (hero):

Correct.

OpenStudy (katecc379):

how about this?

hero (hero):

Post as a separate question.

OpenStudy (katecc379):

okay
