Identify the figure as one of the following https://sevenstar.brainhoney.com/Resource/48547922,0/Assets/flvs/geometry_v8_gs_lrc-3053-xml/res0042/08_01_01.gif dilation reflection rotation translation

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

If it were a dilation, then it would have been the same shape (including the exact position) but in a slightly different size. If it were a reflection, then it would be the same shape but the positions of the points would be the opposite from the original. If it were a rotation, then it would not be in the same position but be the same shape. It would have been rotated maybe 90 degrees CW or 90 degrees CCW (in other words, something like being upside down or more). If it were a translation, the figure would not change at all but the position of the figure in the graph (or where it is plotted) will be changed. It can move up or down and left or right.

OpenStudy (thehouseisaround):

so it would be reflection?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Yup. If it were in a graph, then I would suppose the image would be reflected across the y-axis.
