first, Divide equation by the "a" term which is 2 x^2 +.5x +2 =0

Move the non-x term to the right x^2 +.5x = -2
OpenStudy (wolf1728):
take the coefficient of X (which is .5) • divide it by 2 • square that number • then add it to both sides of the equation.
