If an air conditioning compressor weighing 300 lb had to be lifted 4 ft to be mounted on a base how many ft-lb of work must be accomplished

I think that would be m * g* h ft lbs m = 300 , h = 4 and g is acceleration due to gravity ( 32 ft / sec^2)
simpler than that: the \(MASS\) times gravity gives the \(WEIGHT\), which is 300lb. \(m*g\) is 300 lb already. No need to multiply by gravity again.
I took it to be the mass because the weight should have been given in Newtons.
since the weight is given in pounds, the distance given in feet, and the work done in foot-pounds, it's practically already solved
