@mathmate

OpenStudy (mrnood):

the total distance around is 70 suppose the angle was 90° thenyou can see that 90/360 = 1/4 of a circle so the arc would be 1/4 of circumference = 70/4 In YOUR case the angle is 72 so find out the fraction of the cirrcle (360°) made by 72° then multiply circumference by that fraction

OpenStudy (reemii):

@MrNood 's answer, in a picture |dw:1470920122453:dw| So what is alpha?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

@zarkam21 so what is the fraction of a circle that is made by the arc of 72°

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

1/4

OpenStudy (mrnood):

@zarkam21 No - illustrated that 90/360 = 1/4 so what fraction is 72° ?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

|dw:1470920710240:dw| You can see that 60° goes into a circle SIX times Howm many times will 72° go ?
